  आज हम तापमान (temperature) को प्रभावित करने वाले कारकों (factors) की चर्चा करेंगे. किसी क्षेत्र का तापमान क्यों अधिक और क्यों कम होता है, इस बात को हम इस आर्टिकल के द्वारा समझने की कोशिश करेंगे. यदि किसी क्षेत्र का तापमान अधिक है तो इसका साफ़ मतलब होता है कि वहाँ बहने वाली वायु गर्म है. इसलिए क्यों न हम ये जानें कि वायु का तापक्रम किन चीजों से प्रभावित होता है? पृथ्वी के विभिन्न भागों में वायु के तापक्रम पर प्रभाव डालने वाली प्रमुख बातें निम्नलिखित हैं  – अक्षांश (Latitude) पृथ्वी की उभरी हुई गोलाई के कारण उस पर सभी जगह एक-सी सूर्य की किरणें नहीं पड़तीं. कहीं वे सीधी पड़ती हैं और कहीं तिरछी. सीधी किरणों की अपेक्षा तिरछी किरणें अधिक क्षेत्र में फैलती हैं, फलतः उनसे पृथ्वी पर कम गर्मी उत्पन्न होती है और उसके सम्पर्क में आने वाली वायु कम गर्म हो पाती है. इस चित्र में विषुवतीय (Equator) रेखा पर सूर्य की सीधी किरणें पड़ रही हैं और ध्रुवों पर तिरछी. ध्रुवों के पास अपेक्षाकृत अधिक क्षेत्र में किरणें फैलती हैं. साथ ही, विषुवत् रेखा (equator) पर सूर्य की किरणों को वायुमंडल का कम भाग...
